Osteopathic Teaching Clinic
Dr. McCaffrey's Integrative Osteopathic practice is also a teaching clinic. Dr. McCaffrey is committed to teaching osteopathic medical doctors of the future and recruiting physicians to rural towns.
Patients have the opportunity to be evaluated and treated at the physician supervised medical student clinic for a lower payment. You will receive an OMM/cranial treatment by an osteopathic medical student or resident under the supervision of Dr. MCCaffrey. Who may attend?
Patients with financial need. The clinic hopes to bridge the financial gap and provide osteopathic care to all who need it. After an initial intake by Dr. McCaffrey and a medical student, you may elect to be treated in the student n clinic.
Osteopathic and Allopathic Medical Students and Residents are directly supervised by Dr. McCaffrey. An osteopathic history and musculoskeletal exam is obtained by a medical student. This is followed by an Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) and/or a Cranial treatment if medically indicated.
What to bring and wear?
Please wear casual clothing. Please do not wear jeans, skirts, tight fitting clothing, skirts and dresses or clothing with thick seams. Please do not use perfumes, scents or cologne as many of our patients and staff are allergic and sensitive to these products.
Dr. Kate McCaffrey's office is an Integrative OMM Medical Clerkship for medical students and residents. This rotation is designed to provide osteopathic and allopathic medical students a deeper understanding of osteopathic medicine, integrative medicine and osteopathic manipulative medicine.
